The 30th edition of the TePe Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament is scheduled to take place from May 20 to May 26, 2025, at the Elite Plaza Hotel in Malmö, Sweden. Organized by the Limhamn Chess Club, this annual event has been held since 1993, with the exception of 2020 due to the pandemic.

Polish Grandmaster Jan-Krzysztof Duda, currently 16th in the world, will most probably skip the FIDE World Chess Championship 2026 cycle altogether.

Oskemen Open 2025 is taking place July 20 – July 30 in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. With a $100,000 prize fund, Oskemen Open is one of the major events this summer on The Chess Calendar

Oskemen Open will have Masters, Challengers, and Open section. The Masters tournament is open to players of elo 2400+. GMs of elo 2700+ receive flight reimbursement as extra bonus.

The Kazakhstan Women Chess Championship 2025 takes place May 21 – June 1 in Astana. The Kazakhastan Chess Championship 2025 takes place May 21 – June 1 in Astana. Chess Grandmaster Saparmyrat Atabayev is among the leaders of the Chess.com Classic 2025 Play In. After 5 rounds he is top of the table with 4,5/5, sharing the position with renowned names as Fabiano Caruana and Duda.

The French Chess Federation breaks its own record for federated players, registering 76,390 licensees. The French Chess Federation comments, “The FFE expresses its deep gratitude to those who contribute with passion to this spectacular progression of our sport throughout the country”

The European Corporate Chess Championship 2025, organised by Asnière Le Grand Echiquier under the auspices of the European Chess Union, will be held on 7-8 November in Asnieres sur Seine, Paris, France.

The FIDE Grand Swiss Tournament 2025 is taking place September 3 – September 16 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. It will be an 11-round Swiss-system tournament and forms part of the qualification cycle for the World Chess Championship 2026. The winner and runner-up of the tournament will earn the right to play in the Candidates Tournament 2026.
