Four rounds have already been played at the European Individual Chess Championship 2023 in Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia, and only three players emerged on the top with 4/4 points: GM Anton Korobov (UKR, 2658), GM Ruslan Ponomariov (UKR, 2655), and GM Eltaj Safarli (AZE, 2608). The leading trio is followed by a group of 23 players with score of 3.5/4 points (each).

The Ramat Gan Purim Rapid was played this March 6th in Ramat Gan, Israel. GM Evgeny Postny finished with 5,0/5, a full point ahead of the second placed Ukranian player IM Anton Sitnikov.

The Stockhol Championship 2023 will take place from 06 of March to 29 of May 2023 in Stockholm, Sweden. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move one. This is a 9- round Swiss System tournament.

Kramnik says he is against all wars a priori and shares a lot of what he indirectly implied in the past months, but also keeps more for later saying, “I will express my views on this tragic situation WHEN I decide to do so, but only after this empty vanity fair and witch hunt, which I must admit makes me quite angry,”

Vladimir Kramnik decided to open on the current situation on the Russia – Ukraine war. In an interview for the German Tagesspiegel, cited by Chessbase, Kramnik opened about what he had implied indirectly for months. “I am against ALL wars A PRIORI, without exception, but I do not see much point in publicly expressing this obvious idea. Except to seek public applause,” shares the ex-World Champion.
